Memories of Bulgaria
Gipsy lane in the village .
Last night ,we were watching a program on the Knowledge Network, called " Michael Palin's New Europe " Michael traveled to Macedonia,Bulgaria and Turkey. It reminded me of our trip in July 2005.It had been a long time since I have been back in Bulgaria where I was born and raised.
My husband and I stayed in a small village with my aunt for 4 weeks and we made some trips to Sofia ( Bulgaria's capital) Veliko Turnovo, Nesebar, Sozopol and we went on a bus trip to Istambul, Turkey for 3 days.
That was an experience in itself.

Old cobble stone street in NESEBAR, lined up with old homes, restaurants and street venders selling their wares.

NESEBAR has over 70 very old ruins.
This is the old city, located on a peninsila conected to the mainland by a narrow strip of land. Lots of turists from many different countries come her every year in the summer months.

How lovely, Jordanka! Do you keep in touch with your family through the internet?
What a wonderful trip for you to have! I visited Ottawa this summer after not having been there in 5 years. It was incredible to see people I had not seen in years. I can only imagine how you must have felt reuniting with your brother!
I keep in touch by telephone mostly. these days everyone has a telephone.
It feels like I was there yesterday.

What an exciting trip! I love to see pictures of people's vacations, but this was not just any vacation, the reunion must have been wonderful! Thanks for sharing.
Great! My uncle and grandparents were from Macedonia and they lived in Bulgaria some years during the Second World War, then he came to Argentina where my mother and I was born.
I would love to know these countries, I grew hearing lovely stories from that places :)
